Driving time from Fort Bragg to Southern Pines, Pinehurst and the surrounding communities is only about 30 minutes and is an easy drive.  The best and quickest routes are from the base using Manchester Road.

Rt. 1 – From Ft. Bragg go west on Longstreet, right on Lamont, and left on Manchester Rd. to the 4-way stop in Southern Pines.  Turn right at the 4-way stop take Connecticut Ave which is a direct route to the heart of downtown Southern Pines.

Rt. 2 –  From Ft. Bragg go west on Longstreet, right on Lamont, and left on Manchester Rd. and right on the road to Vass.  The Vass Road is a route to Vass, Woodlake and the north end of Southern Pines.  Lobelia Road will connect with the Vass Road and provides access to Woodlake, or continue on Lobelia to US 1 and on to Vass.  For Southern Pines, turn left on Lake Bay from Lobelia and drive through Hunt County to see some of the finest horse farms in the south.  From Lake Bay, turn left on Youngs Road which will take you to the north end of residential and downtown Southern Pines.

Rt.2 is also good for Cameron, Whispering Pines and Carthage.

Rt. 1 is the quickest route to Pinehurst.
